i woke up with my head pounding and my phone ringing. the unfortunate perks (if you could even call them that) of having low alcohol tolerance. a lightweight, in other words.
and of course, who else was calling me but my mother.
"good morning mom." i groaned into the phone, rolling over lazily on my bed and sitting up slightly. "how is everything?"
"good, good." she replied in a chipper tone. god, my mom was always extremely too happy and joyous, especially in the mornings. i hated it to no end. "how is everything at school? are you behaving properly?"
"yeah i've been good," i answered, throwing the duvet from me and standing up, "except why is kinsley mavor still attending? i thought we had agreed to expel her. this is shit, she needs to go."
"watch your mouth, jensie." mom snapped, which was expected. "and kinsley is still here because as long as the government is supplying us with the funds she needs to attend that her family can't afford themselves, then i will not turn her away. she needs this place. just avoid her, sweetheart."
"if only it were that easy." i muttered, pulling some clothes from my hangers. "good bye mom."
